Cause Description:
The purpose and ministry of the Diamond J Youth Ranch is to establish and operate a working ranch where a safe, secure and moral environment can be provided for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. The vision of this ministry is to provide a Christ centered, community based, setting for boys and girls through the use of “family homes”. Each home will be headed by a married couple that will care for the needs of the children and make a commitment to live and work on the ranch for an extended period of time. Living and working on a ranch will provide a unique opportunity for each child to experience personal responsibility through chores, community service, and projects in 4-H or FFA programs. The children will learn vital “life skills” through woodworking, welding mechanics, leatherwork, home management, quilting, gardening, art, music and more. Spiritual Enrichment for each child will be met through daily devotions, weekly Bible study, and attending church with their ranch family.
